He Xiaopeng sends internal memo: personally leading the final 200-day sprint to robot mass production
On June 10, it was learned that He Xiaopeng sent an internal letter, announcing that he would personally take charge of the robotics business.
In the internal letter, He Xiaopeng stated that XPeng’s humanoid robot is currently at a particularly critical stage, equivalent to the phase eight years ago when XPeng Motors was about to complete the launch of its first car, the G3, standing on the threshold of mass production and delivery.

On May 28, it was reported that He Xiaopeng said in an interview that the year of commercial mass production for high-level humanoid robots is likely to be 2027.
He believes that robots are the core carrier of “physical AI,” with inherently high software value. Once capabilities break through, the speed of scaling may far exceed that of automobiles.
XPeng has chosen the difficult path of general-purpose humanoid robots that most resemble humans, and has restructured its team to focus on using AI, rather than traditional software engineering, to drive the robot’s brain and motion control.
He Xiaopeng predicts that starting from 2027, physical AI, like digital AI, will begin to provide significant assistance to numerous job positions and even replace them to some extent.
On May 27, it was noted that sources revealed XPeng Group recently held a robot mass production mobilization meeting, attended by nearly a thousand employees from multiple centers including automotive, powertrain, manufacturing, testing, and general intelligence.
It is reported that three core executives—He Xiaopeng, Vice President Gu Jie, and Robotics Center Head LC Mi—attended the meeting. The mobilization meeting marked the official entry of XPeng’s robotics business into the mass production sprint phase.
The report stated that during the meeting, He Xiaopeng clarified key timelines: achieving mass production of humanoid robots by the end of 2026, and expected entry into XPeng’s offline stores as sales guides in the first quarter of 2027. He also emphasized that XPeng’s robots are fully self-developed from chips to operating systems, and from joints to dexterous hands, making it the only company in China with a full-stack self-developed robotics system. The high initial investment will bring higher quality, better aesthetics, and more comprehensive capabilities.
