Hanse Mobility Hosts Employee-Led ‘AI Idea Competition
Hanse Yess24 Group’s automotive parts specialist Hanse Mobility announced on the 30th that it is strengthening company-wide AI-based work innovation by operating an “AI Utilization Idea Competition” to discover and spread AI work tools and automation cases developed directly by its employees.
Hanse Mobility held the competition twice this year to discover AI utilization cases that can reduce repetitive tasks and solve real on-site problems. The competition is open to all employees and is operated in five areas: ▲ AI work tool development ▲ Work automation ▲ Data analysis and prediction ▲ Work process improvement ▲ Collaboration systems.
Participants submit implementation results such as actual usage screens and videos along with their idea descriptions, and winning entries are selected through review by the responsible department, evaluation by working-level judges, and presentation evaluations for management. The evaluation comprehensively assesses work improvement effectiveness, potential for diffusion to other organizations, creativity, and actual level of utilization.
In particular, the second competition focused on cases where employees directly developed AI work tools such as proprietary programs and mobile apps, or improved existing work processes. Beyond simple information search or data organization, the level of utilization has been further advanced toward employees using AI to solve on-site problems.
In the first competition, the “CATIA Macro Tool using ChatGPT” developed by Manager Kim Seong-jae of the Powertrain Design Office was selected as the grand prize winner, “AI Champion.” This case automates repetitive modeling tasks that occur during automotive parts design by defining necessary functions in natural language and generating VBA code drafts.
Since winning the award, Hanse Mobility has been expanding the scope of application of the tool by conducting utilization seminars and additional hands-on training for research institute employees. The company plans to advance the functions so that it can be used in other design programs as well, and expand it into tools tailored to the work characteristics of each department.
At the U.S. subsidiary, ChatGPT and Claude were used to automate manual documentation tasks such as equipment inspection checklists, worker allocation, rework data, scrap and machine error reports. A web application that digitalizes quality and production check sheets has also been developed and is being prepared for on-site application.
In the second competition, the “QMS Mobile App using Webview” developed by Manager Na Jeong-ryul of the Quality Strategy Division was selected as the AI Champion. The existing PC-based quality management system was implemented for use in mobile environments, and barcode and QR code scanning and photo attachment functions were applied to enable immediate input of inspection results on-site. Hanse Mobility plans to begin pilot operation in August and expand to the quality management organizations of each plant by the end of October.
