Tenet officially announced the flagship crossover T9 for the Russian market
Sales of the new model from the “local” brand on the Russian auto market are scheduled to start in autumn 2026; a more precise date, as well as the SUV’s prices, will be announced later.
The Tenet brand appeared on the Russian auto market in February 2025. Let us remind you that this project is the result of a partnership between the Russian holding “AGR” and the Chinese company Defetoo. Production of crossovers under this brand has been established at the plant near Kaluga (previously owned by the Volkswagen Group). Now a flagship is preparing to join the lineup – the Tenet T9.
Tenet showed a pre-production prototype of this new model back in late January 2026, and now the brand’s press service has shared some details about the T9 crossover. Like the brand’s other models, the new vehicle has a “twin” under the Chery brand, this time played by the Tiggo 9. By the way, in its native China the model has already undergone a facelift, but the Tenet T9 received the pre-facelift design.
Thus, the car features a traditional five-door body, stampings on the hood and sides, a spoiler at the top of the tailgate, silver roof rails, chrome trim around the side windows, standard exterior mirrors, and flush door handles. The crossover’s profile is adorned with 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.
The car features LED lighting with intelligent high-beam and low-beam control, a large octagonal radiator grille with a mesh pattern and chrome “strokes” and a matching frame. The lower part of the front bumper integrates a central trapezoidal air intake and a pair of side intakes with original styling.
The Tenet T9’s cabin is designed for either five or seven occupants. Its overall length is 4810 mm (85 mm longer than the “younger brother” Tenet T8), width – 1925 mm (65 mm more), height – 1741 mm (36 mm more), and the wheelbase – 2800 mm (90 mm more). The new model’s ground clearance is 200 mm, and the maximum cargo space can reach 2150 liters (depending on configuration).
The interior trim uses genuine leather, soft microsuede for door cards and the dashboard, plus wood veneer inserts. In front of the driver is a 10.3-inch virtual instrument cluster, and a 15.6-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system is mounted in the center of the dashboard. Also provided are a head-up display, audio with 14 speakers (including a subwoofer and two speakers in the driver’s headrest), and ambient lighting that can sync with music or the selected driving mode.
The equipment list includes: a panoramic roof with a sliding sunroof (area exceeding 1.5 square meters), dual-zone climate control, seats with heating and ventilation, and the driver’s seat also features 12-way power adjustment, massage function, and memory settings. The Tenet T9 also received ten airbags, 14 electronic assistants, front and rear parking sensors, and a 540° surround-view camera system.
The winter package includes, among other things, a heated steering wheel, heated entire windshield surface, heated washer nozzles, as well as a remote engine start function for pre-warming the cabin. Under the hood of the Tenet T9 is a 2.0-liter turbo engine producing 245 hp, with a maximum torque of 375 Nm. It works in conjunction with a classic eight-speed automatic transmission; drive is all-wheel. This SUV takes 8 seconds to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h.
Production of the flagship will be established using full-cycle technology at the plant near Kaluga. Sales of the new model are scheduled to start in autumn 2026. It is known that the model will be offered in three trim levels, with prices to be announced later. Obviously, the Tenet T9 will be more expensive than its “younger brother,” whose recommended retail price ranges from 3,099,000 to 3,885,000 rubles.
