Genesis Unveils Images for “Flesh Impact” Film Commemorating Marilyn Monroe’s 100th Birthday
Images from the Marilyn Monroe 100th Anniversary commemorative film ‘Flesh Impact,’ supported by the Genesis brand (hereinafter ‘Genesis’), have been unveiled.
In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe’s birth, Genesis has been highlighting her innovative spirit, noting the parallels between Monroe’s life—challenging adversity to pursue her dreams and creating a timeless influence—and Genesis’s own journey of bold challenges in establishing itself as a global luxury brand.
To this end, since June, the ‘Manifesting Marilyn’ exhibition has been underway at Genesis House New York, curated to fully convey the true essence of Marilyn Monroe to audiences.
Through its production support for ‘Flesh Impact,’ Genesis aims to present a new side of Marilyn Monroe to audiences.
The film’s title, ‘Flesh Impact,’ is derived from expressions emphasizing Marilyn Monroe’s extraordinary aura and presence, carrying the meaning of delivering audiences a vivid experience as if meeting Marilyn Monroe directly beyond the screen.
The film portrays Monroe as a figure who broke boundaries and transcended limits, through close collaboration with Authentic Brands Group, the owner and manager of the Marilyn Monroe estate.
Actor and director Maggie Gyllenhaal takes the helm, with Hollywood top actress Dakota Johnson portraying Monroe in her youthful prime at the height of her fame, and Academy Award-winning actress Ellen Burstyn playing the never-before-revealed older Monroe. Additionally, Emmy-nominated actors Peter Sarsgaard and Sepideh Moafi, among other renowned performers, also star in the film.
Director Maggie Gyllenhaal stated, “When Genesis first proposed the project commemorating Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday, I thought I wanted to bring this idea to life together,” adding, “This film is a reinterpretation of the Marilyn Monroe we remember and love from a contemporary perspective, and I aimed to shed new light on her narrative.”
Amy Marentic, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Genesis Motors North America, said, “Genesis believes that art can create meaningful connections between people,” and added, “Supporting this film commemorating Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday demonstrates Genesis’s commitment to highlighting cultural icons who have left a transcendent impact across generations.”
Meanwhile, ‘Flesh Impact’ is scheduled to premiere at the “2026 Venice International Film Festival” this coming September.
