Lamborghini, High-Performance SUV Exceeding 800 Horsepower… Unveiled on July 1
Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini will unveil a new version of its SUV model, the Urus, on July 1. The Urus is a large SUV that has recorded the highest sales volume in Lamborghini’s lineup and was first unveiled in 2017.
The Urus joined Lamborghini’s lineup, which had previously consisted only of two-door mid-engined models, as a four-door coupe-style SUV, driving the brand’s quantitative growth. While maintaining Lamborghini’s distinctive design and driving character, it also offered everyday practicality, playing a role in bringing a new customer base to the brand.
The current Urus lineup consists of the Urus, Urus S, Urus Performante, and Urus SE. The newly unveiled model this time is expected to be the ‘Urus SE Performante,’ a high-performance plug-in hybrid model. The existing Urus SE combines a 4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, delivering a combined system output of 800 horsepower and maximum torque of 96.9 kgf·m.
The upcoming Urus SE Performante is expected to feature enhanced power performance compared to this, with total output projected to exceed 800 horsepower. The front exterior will feature newly designed headlamps and a redesigned bumper, while changes to the rear spoiler design and other elements are expected to differentiate it from existing models. Additionally, suspension performance tuning is expected to be carried out in line with the power increase.
With the cancellation of the production plan for the pure electric vehicle Lanzador, the Urus will maintain its position as Lamborghini’s only model capable of seating four or more people. The new Urus will be unveiled via live broadcast on July 1 through Lamborghini’s official website and YouTube channel.
