Korea Donggrami Partners Conducts Disability Awareness Improvement Activities
Hankook & Company Group (Chairman Cho Hyun-bum)’s subsidiary-type standard workplace for people with disabilities, Hankook Donggeurami Partners, held a disability awareness improvement experiential activity on the 26th at Suri Welfare Center for Persons with Disabilities in Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. Employees experienced the mobility environment from the perspective of people with disabilities, reflecting on the values of understanding and inclusion.
This activity, carried out based on Chairman Cho Hyun-bum’s philosophy of mutual growth, went beyond simple education or one-time volunteer work, focusing on broadening empathy and understanding by directly experiencing the realities faced by people with disabilities. Around 10 employees of Hankook Donggeurami Partners participated in the event, with new employees especially taking part, providing an opportunity to cultivate disability sensitivity from the early stages of employment and internalize the value of inclusion as part of the organizational culture.
Participants used assistive devices that aid the mobility of people with disabilities to navigate ramps and public facilities, and took part in experiences exploring their surroundings with restricted vision. Through these activities, they experienced the mobility and daily life constraints faced by those with limited mobility, enhancing disability sensitivity and broadening consensus on the values of respect and consideration.
Established in 2015, Hankook Donggeurami Partners is a standard workplace for people with disabilities wholly funded by Hankook Tire & Technology. Without placing limits on the capabilities of people with disabilities, the company has pursued the enhancement of vocational capabilities and the expansion of business areas, while also promoting the expansion of sports culture for people with disabilities and community-linked volunteer activities. In recognition of these efforts, the company received the Iron Tower Industrial Medal and a Presidential Citation at the Employment Promotion for the Disabled Contest hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, as well as the Prime Minister’s Commendation and the Minister of Health and Welfare Award.
Meanwhile, Hankook & Company Group is practicing sustainable management across environment, society, and governance, centered on the group’s integrated ESG brand ‘DRIVING FORWARD, TOGETHER,’ launched under Chairman Cho Hyun-bum’s ESG philosophy.
