BMW Group Korea Supports Military Police Battalion Motorcycle Training at Capital Defense Command
BMW Group Korea provided free support for the motorcycle training of the Special Mission Battalion Mobile Company of the Military Police Corps under the Capital Defense Command, which was held on the 29th, by offering the BMW Driving Center located on Yeongjong Island, Incheon, as well as training motorcycles.
This collaboration was carried out to fulfill the company’s social responsibility and realize public-interest values by providing the BMW Driving Center’s specialized facilities as a training venue for enhancing the national defense capabilities of a state institution.
A total of 35 elite personnel, including officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers, and civil servants from the Special Mission Battalion Mobile Company of the Military Police Corps under the Capital Defense Command, participated in the motorcycle training, and the battalion commander and related staff also visited to observe the training.
The training focused on responding to unexpected situations that may occur on the road and maximizing the military’s tactical mobility capabilities. The BMW Driving Center’s multi-course and main track were utilized as training facilities. Through this, exercises such as obstacle avoidance and emergency braking, slope driving, company formation driving, and formation maneuvering were conducted to enhance the military police’s motorcycle riding skills and organizational mobility.
BMW Group Korea fully opened the driving courses at the BMW Driving Center and cooperated in creating a smooth training environment, providing a total of 10 training motorcycles, including models such as the BMW F 900 GS, BMW R 1300 RT, and BMW R 1300 GS Adventure. In addition, time was set aside to share BMW Motorrad’s technological expertise and brand philosophy, while also introducing the capabilities and distinctiveness accumulated in the field of manufacturing motorcycles for official duties.
Meanwhile, BMW Group Korea has continued its cooperation with public institutions, focusing on the fire safety sector. Following the driving training conducted for emergency medical technicians from Incheon-area fire stations at the BMW Driving Center in 2024, the following year it conducted electric vehicle fire safety training for Incheon-area firefighters. In May of this year, it expanded the training to include Seoul-area firefighters, supporting the strengthening of electric vehicle safety response capabilities at fire sites.
In addition, BMW Group Korea has provided 1,150 vehicle-mounted cooling and heating units to the National Fire Agency, which can be used to store medicines and beverages needed for fire suppression and emergency dispatch operations nationwide, and has extended the free replacement period for consumables of the BMW X5 donated to the Seoul Metropolitan Fire & Disaster Headquarters indefinitely, among other support activities.
