The fastest track of the season: the URAL champion will be decided in Chelyabinsk
The final stage of the URAL regional league of the Yuka Drive Gymkhana Lite Fortis series promises to be the fastest of the entire season. On July 26, the “Trassa 74” motorsport complex in Chelyabinsk will once again host the series participants, but the organizers have already prepared a completely new track configuration for them. The season champion will be determined here, and will earn the opportunity to represent the regional league in the final of the PRO series Yuka Drive Gymkhana.
It is symbolic that the season will end where it began. In May, it was at “Trassa 74” that the first stage of the URAL regional league took place, and three months later, the same venue will become the site of the decisive battle for the championship title. According to the series’ sports director, a repeat of the May track should not be expected.
The organizers have also prepared several new elements. Among them are a double hit on the piñata and a new combination with a drive-through of the box. It is the latter element that, according to the organizers, could become one of the key factors at the final stage.
The most challenging will be the box, which will be located right next to the concrete blocks. It is one thing to clip a water-filled barrier and receive penalty points. It is quite another to make a mistake near concrete. Here, the cost of an error is significantly higher.
Heading into the final, the overall standings leader is Chelyabinsk’s Maxim Akhtyamov, who, behind the wheel of a Toyota Corolla V8, won both previous stages and has accumulated 544 points. Following him are two more representatives of Chelyabinsk — Nikita Belioglov (294 points) and Semyon Vasilyev (199 points). However, in gymkhana, a points advantage does not yet guarantee the final victory: one imprecise maneuver can change the balance of power already in the first head-to-head run.
Regional leagues remain the main stepping stone on the path to the PRO series, allowing drivers to take their first steps in motorsport and compete for advancement to the next level. At the same time, success here depends not so much on the technical characteristics of the car, but on the driver, their precision, reaction speed, and ability to quickly adapt to new track configurations.
In addition to the sporting part, the organizers have prepared a program for spectators: a drivers’ parade, an autograph session, G-TAXI, interactive zones, and contests.
