Crossovers Voyah Passion S: pre-orders start and a rush
The new Voyah crossover has debuted in a single top trim level. The lineup is expected to be expanded later.
The sporty electric Voyah crossover was officially announced in May. The Chinese name of the model is Chasing Light S, while the international name is Passion S. The latter name – just without the letter S – is also borne by the sedan of the brand owned by the Dongfeng concern, although the crossover has little in common with the four-door. So today, pre-orders for the electric crossover have opened in its home country. True, the manufacturer has not yet disclosed all the specifications. And only a single top trim, Ultra+, is currently available for order.
The Voyah Passion S crossover has “muscular” sides, frameless doors with semi-concealed handles, a glass roof, two-tier headlights, and a full-width light bar. The lower part of the bumper features active shutters, and the hood and front fenders have additional air vents. Carbon fiber parts, including a rear wing, are available for an extra charge. The crossover sits on 21-inch wheels.
The Passion S is 5050 mm long, 1998 mm wide, 1636 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3000 mm. The trunk volume is 584 liters, which increases to 1744 liters with the second-row seatbacks folded down. There is also an additional front compartment of 80 liters.
Inside, there is a narrow instrument screen and a giant multimedia display consisting of two screens (each 15.6 inches diagonally). The multimedia system runs on an operating system from Huawei. A box with heating and cooling functions is hidden in the center armrest. The seats certainly come with heating, ventilation, and massage. The equipment list also includes an augmented reality head-up display, an audio system with 27 speakers, and the ADS 5 autopilot from the aforementioned Huawei (including four lidars, one of which is a 896-line unit above the windshield). The Voyah Passion S Ultra+ can also “growl” like a supercar.
The top crossover features an 800-volt architecture, air suspension, adaptive dampers, and dual-motor all-wheel drive. Total output is 646 hp. Chinese media report that the Voyah Passion S Ultra+ is equipped with a 98.1 kWh battery. The range is 740 km on the CLTC cycle. It is officially announced that such a crossover will accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
By the way, the certificate for the new model was previously posted online. According to it, the crossover can also be rear-wheel drive, with a 408-hp electric motor. According to local media, the “simpler” versions are expected to have an 81.6 kWh battery (630 km).
The Voyah Passion S Ultra+ is preliminarily priced at 309,900 yuan, which is equivalent to about 3.6 million rubles at the current exchange rate. Obviously, Voyah took the Xiaomi YU7 crossover as a benchmark for the new model. The most affordable all-wheel-drive version of the Xiaomi model (496 hp) currently costs 279,900 yuan (3.2 million rubles). The top-end Xiaomi YU7 GT (1003 hp) will cost 389,900 yuan (4.5 million rubles). Meanwhile, even the not-yet-fully-revealed Voyah Passion S has caught the fancy of the Chinese: in just one hour, the crossover gathered approximately 10,300 orders.
