X7, competing with GLS, Audi’s first full-size SUV ‘Q9’ unveiled
Audi has unveiled the brand’s first full-size SUV, the ‘Audi Q9’, for the first time in the world. The Audi Q9 is the top model in Audi’s SUV portfolio.
Gernot Döllner, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, said, “In the future, ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ will be defined more around the in-car experience. Cars are evolving beyond mere means of transportation into mobile living spaces for customers,” and added, “The Audi Q9, the new portfolio flagship, is a model that embodies this vision. Premium materials, second-row independent power seats, and automatic doors demonstrate Audi’s commitment to interior quality. Combined with the latest driver assistance systems and an integrated user experience, it clearly shows the direction the Audi brand is heading.”
The Audi Q9 was designed with generous body proportions and spacious interior in mind, catering to diverse lifestyles ranging from family customers to business customers. As Audi’s first full-size SUV, it expands the brand’s spatiality and practicality to a new level, possessing a presence befitting the top model of the SUV lineup.
The Audi Q9 offers spacious interior space and excellent versatility based on a standard 7-seat configuration. The optional 6-seat configuration supports an even more generous sense of space and a premium riding experience, particularly delivering business-class level comfort through second-row independent power seats. In addition, the design considering even the third-row space provides a comfortable travel experience even on long-distance drives.
Audi has applied automatic doors for the first time in the brand’s history to the Q9, further enhancing convenience when getting in and out. The automatic doors, which operate safely by detecting the vehicle’s surroundings, provide a more intuitive and comfortable user experience, offering differentiated convenience befitting a flagship SUV.
Furthermore, the largest panoramic sunroof in Audi’s history provides all occupants with an outstanding sense of openness. The interior, finished with premium materials and meticulous craftsmanship, proposes the value of a premium living space that enriches customers’ daily lives and journeys beyond being a mere means of transportation.
The Audi Q9 features a bold and confident design befitting the brand’s first full-size SUV. The upright body proportions, long silhouette, and wide body emphasize a powerful yet elegant presence, revealing its status as the flagship model representing Audi’s SUV portfolio.
The front end delivers a striking impression with a modern reinterpretation of Audi’s iconic Singleframe design. Additionally, different design packages such as the Advanced line and S line present two distinct appeals—elegance and sportiness—reflecting customers’ diverse tastes. In particular, the rear features the world’s first curved digital OLED rear light, symbolically showcasing Audi’s innovative lighting technology. The lighting system, seamlessly integrated into the body design, not only provides excellent visibility and safety but also completes a distinctive presence even at night.
Lighting technology is also one of the key features of the Audi Q9. Along with the world’s first curved digital OLED rear light, digital Matrix LED headlights are applied to support intuitive communication between the driver and other road users. This simultaneously enhances both design and safety, demonstrating Audi’s technological leadership.
The Audi Q9 also offers an enhanced digital user experience. The infotainment system centered around the panoramic display, a natural language-based voice assistant, and AI-based information services provide a more intuitive and convenient vehicle experience, while various advanced driver assistance systems support safe and confident driving.
The Q9, Audi’s first full-size SUV and new flagship model, is expected to establish itself as an iconic model presenting Audi’s future premium mobility vision based on spaciousness, luxury, and technological innovation.
