According to reports, on June 9, Pony.ai, together with Bolt, a European local mobility platform, and Stellantis, a global automotive manufacturing giant, jointly announced that the three parties will launch a Robotaxi testing project in Luxembourg.
The project will leverage Luxembourg’s forward-looking policies on autonomous driving testing, focusing on verifying the safety, operational performance, and compliance of Pony.ai’s seventh-generation Robotaxi in the local traffic environment. Stellantis will provide MPVs based on its L4 autonomous driving platform and leverage its expertise in vehicle engineering and manufacturing.
Currently, the three parties are systematically advancing preparations for autonomous driving testing. The core focus will be on validating safety assurance and operational systems for city-level autonomous driving, with the testing scope covering key aspects such as vehicle deployment, ride-hailing platform integration, fleet operations, and cross-departmental regulatory collaboration.
The implementation of this project builds upon the cooperation intentions previously reached among Bolt, Stellantis, and Pony.ai, aiming to jointly advance the research and deployment of autonomous driving mobility solutions in Europe, laying the foundation for achieving fully driverless operational capabilities after the project concludes.
The three parties will fully leverage their respective advantages in the industrial chain: Bolt will integrate its ride-hailing platform operations and market expansion experience; Stellantis will provide vehicle platforms supporting L4 autonomous driving along with engineering and manufacturing capabilities; and Pony.ai will contribute its leading autonomous driving technology and operational expertise. Through collaborative innovation, the three parties are committed to accelerating the large-scale adoption of autonomous driving mobility services in Europe.
