BYD Presents the Power of Duality at Busan Mobility Show, Showcasing the Potential of Electrification
BYD Korea announced that it will participate for the first time as a brand in the ‘2026 Busan Mobility Show’ to be held at BEXCO in Busan from the 26th to July 5th. Through this event, BYD Korea plans to introduce electrified products and technologies spanning both passenger and commercial vehicles, presenting a new direction for the domestic eco-friendly vehicle market.
BYD Korea has set up its exhibition booth under the concept of ‘Power of Duality,’ which embodies BYD’s technology philosophy that the combination of two different elements creates new possibilities and value. In addition, the company unveiled the BYD SEALION 6 DM-i, a hybrid model being introduced to Korea for the first time.
BYD’s proprietary technology applied to the BYD SEALION 6 DM-i, DM-i (Dual Mode Intelligent), is an ‘Electric-First Hybrid’ technology in which the electric motor takes the lead in driving while the engine assists. Furthermore, as a result of combining the know-how BYD has accumulated as an EV manufacturer and battery company into the hybrid system, it boasts superior fuel and energy efficiency, driving performance, excellent charging and discharging experience, and proven safety and reliability compared to conventional plug-in hybrids (PHEVs).
Meanwhile, in line with the ‘Power of Duality’ concept, the BYD Korea exhibition booth has been organized into various themed zones so that visitors can experience the value of ‘duality’ presented by BYD, including pure electric vehicles and DM-i technology, passenger and commercial vehicles, the present and future of electrification, and the globally recognized technological prowess and the model lineup that embodies it.
Among these, the Tech Zone displays the DM-i platform and the e-Platform, which serves as the foundation for BYD electric vehicles, side by side so that visitors can see at a glance the two core electrification technologies presented by BYD. This space features both physical structures and video content, designed to help visitors understand the operating principles and characteristics of the technologies.
In addition, visitor participation events will be held at the exhibition hall. Visitors can receive a balloon by following BYD Korea’s official SNS channels, and can also win prizes such as reusable bags and coffee coupons through on-site participation programs and quiz events.
In the outdoor area of the exhibition, a space has been prepared where visitors can test drive BYD’s key vehicles. Visitors can experience the driving performance and convenience features of the vehicles BYD has introduced in Korea, and can also receive detailed information about products and services through on-site consultations.
