Crossover Jeland J7 prepares for sales launch in Russia: serial production begins

Full-cycle production of the crossover has been launched at the plant in Shushary (St. Petersburg), which is currently owned by the Russian holding company “AGR”.
The name Jeland was given to the brand, which emerged as one of the joint projects of the “AGR” holding and the Chinese company Defetoo. Let us remind you that the official launch of the brand became known in early February 2026, and its debut model was the Jeland J6 crossover, which entered the Russian market a couple of weeks ago. As previously reported, the second model of the new “local” brand will be the mid-size crossover Jeland J7.

The new model was announced last week, with prices and trim levels revealed shortly after, and now the company announces the start of serial production of the Jeland J7 using full-cycle technology (including welding, painting, and assembly). Production has been launched at the plant in Shushary (St. Petersburg): this facility previously belonged to the American concern GM, then to the Korean company Hyundai, and is now owned by the Russian holding “AGR”.

The company noted that the Jeland J7 is prepared for Russian road and climatic conditions. The underbody and hidden body cavities are treated with wax and receive additional layers of anti-corrosion materials, including anti-gravel and noise-insulation protection. The model also comes with a full winter package, including heated front seats and rear bench, heated steering wheel, as well as heated windshield and washer nozzles.

As Kolesa.ru previously reported, the new mid-size crossover for Russia is a “twin” of the current Jaecoo J7 crossover (a brand within the portfolio of the Chinese corporation Chery). Let us remind you that this SUV entered the Russian market at the very end of last year and is still available for purchase.

Sales of the Jeland J7 on the Russian auto market will begin soon; the new model will be offered in two trims – Comfort and Prestige. The starting version has a recommended retail price of 2,849,000 rubles. Under the hood of this crossover is a 150-horsepower turbo engine with a displacement of 1.6 liters, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch robot. The drive is front-wheel, and it takes 9.7 seconds to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h.
The Jeland J7 in the Prestige trim can be offered either with the same “filling” (priced from 3,049,000 rubles) or with all-wheel drive and a boosted 1.6-liter engine. Its maximum output is increased to 186 hp, while torque is the same for all versions – 275 Nm. This SUV takes 9 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. Its recommended retail price is 3,349,000 rubles.

The Jeland J7’s equipment list includes: 18-inch alloy wheels, up to six airbags, a 540° panoramic view system, an ADAS driver assistance suite including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and a traffic jam assistant. The model also comes with: dual-zone climate control, an infotainment system with a vertical 13.2-inch tablet and voice control, Sony audio with eight speakers, a head-up display, and a wireless smartphone charging device (power – 50 W).
