GAC and Huawei unveiled their second model – the Aistaland GX7 crossover
The crossover from the still very young brand Aistaland is expected to go on sale in the fall. It is assumed that, like the firstborn, the crossover is an electric car.
The newly created brand Aistaland (also known as Qijing in Chinese) is a project of GAC and Huawei companies. Moreover, unlike the numerous other joint brands of the IT giant and other automakers, this brand is not part of the HIMA alliance. The firstborn of Aistaland was the striking electric station wagon GT7, and today its full launch took place in China.
At the same time, the new brand revealed the appearance of its second model – a crossover with the index GX7. According to information from Chinese specialized media, the crossover will enter the domestic market in the fall of this year. By the way, the brand subsequently plans to release other SUVs as well as sedans.
The exterior of the Aistaland GX7 is designed in the same style as the station wagon. The crossover received headlights of a similar shape, semi-hidden door handles, and a single light bar. The doors are most likely frameless. Like the Aistaland GT7, there are active shutters in the lower part of the front bumper. Of course, the crossover is also equipped with an autopilot with a lidar above the windshield.
The wheelbase of the GX7 is 3070 mm versus 3000 mm for the station wagon. Other dimensions have not yet been announced. The length of the Aistaland GT7 is 5050 mm, width – 1980 mm, height – 1470 mm.
The five-seat interior has not been fully shown. The brand only boasted about its main feature: the crossover has both front and rear seats that fold down to form a “bed.” Moreover, a flat surface can be achieved in just 20 seconds – simply press a button.
There is no official information yet about the technology of the Aistaland crossover. Most likely, like the station wagon, the GX7 crossover is an electric car. The Aistaland GT7 station wagon has an 800-volt architecture and is available with rear-wheel drive or three-motor all-wheel drive. The first modification is equipped with a 340-horsepower electric motor; the rear-wheel-drive station wagon comes with a battery capacity of 86 or 102 kWh, with a range of 770 or 900 km on the CLTC cycle. The total output of the all-wheel-drive GT7 is 768 hp, and this version is fitted with the top battery of 102 kWh. The range of the three-motor version has not been announced. However, Aistaland stated that such a station wagon will reach the first “hundred” in 2.98 seconds.
More details about the Aistaland GX7 crossover will likely appear before its launch. As for the electric Aistaland GT7 station wagon, after the start of “live” sales, it is priced at 209,900 – 329,900 yuan (approximately 2.38 million – 3.74 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
