Nissan Dayz gets several updates and brings back a couple of special versions.
Prices for the refreshed compact cars presented on the domestic market are already known. The starting compact here costs no less than 1,500,400 yen.
The Nissan Dayz and its twin, the Mitsubishi eK, have been produced since 2001, with manufacturing set up at the facilities of the joint venture NMKV (Nissan Mitsubishi Kei Vehicle). Let us recall that this duo was at the center of the fuel scandal that occurred in 2016: its outcome was that Mitsubishi joined the Renault-Nissan alliance. The current generation of compacts appeared in 2019, and they underwent a refresh in the fall of 2023.
Now the Japanese brand has announced some additional updates that the current kei car Nissan Dayz has received. It is reported that the car’s safety has been improved through the modernization of the intelligent emergency braking function: it now uses a wider horizontal field of view for the front camera. The compact has also received a rear-seat passenger reminder function.
In addition, the refreshed model has been given a USB Type-C port in the front, as well as a couple of new two-tone body color options – white with a light brown roof and pearl with a light green roof. At the same time, all two-tone variants now have door handles finished in the same color as the car’s roof.
The hatchback is still offered in two versions – the standard one and the so-called “youth” version with the addition of Highway Star to the name. The Nissan Dayz has the same 660cc naturally aspirated engine producing 52 hp, plus a turbo version with 64 hp. In addition, a starter-generator is provided, which delivers 2.7 hp and assists during the first seconds of acceleration. It is paired with an Xtronic CVT, with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive available.
Prices for the refreshed compacts are already known: on the domestic market, the starting version here costs no less than 1,500,400 yen (equivalent to approximately 716 thousand rubles at the current exchange rate). The top-tier front-wheel-drive version costs 1,964,600 yen (about 938 million rubles). Purchasing an all-wheel-drive model will cost 1,677,500 – 2,140,600 yen, i.e., about 0.8 – 1.02 million rubles.
Also today, July 27, 2026, the company announced the start of sales of the returning special versions prepared by Nissan Motorsports & Customize. These are the Nissan Dayz Highway Star Urban Chrome and the Dayz Bolero. In the first case, the model features a different front-end design, a number of chrome decorative inserts, including on the side panels, silver exterior mirror housings, original 15-inch aluminum alloy wheels, and the seats in the cabin are upholstered in waterproof materials. The palette has gained a variant with a titanium-gray body and a black roof.
In turn, the Nissan Dayz Bolero has different body color options, for example, a pink lower half, black roof pillars, a white top, and door handles and exterior mirror housings in the same color. At the same time, for variants with a solid-color body (black is now also available), the door handles and mirror housings are painted in the same white color as the exclusive 14-inch alloy wheels. The interior is finished in beige and pink shades.
For the Nissan Dayz Highway Star Urban Chrome, prices in Japan currently range from 1,811,700 to 2,217,600 yen (about 0.87 – 1.06 million rubles), and for the variant with the Bolero addition – from 1,653,300 to 1,830,400 yen (about 789 – 874 thousand rubles).
Let us recall that last spring, Nissan unveiled the refreshed kei car Sakura, which is a fully electric version of the Dayz.
