Mazda MX-5 Roadster Equipped with ‘Yokohama Advan V107’ as Factory-Installed Tires

Japanese tire manufacturer Yokohama will supply its original equipment (OE) tire, the “ADVAN Sport V107,” for Mazda’s two-seater roadster MX-5. The Mazda Roadster is a two-seater lightweight sports car that has produced over 1.26 million units cumulatively since the launch of the first-generation model in 1989. The current fourth-generation facelift model is scheduled for release in September, with the supply specification being 195/50R16 84V.

Through this facelift, Mazda adds a new “PS” trim specification. It comes standard with Bilstein dampers, Brembo brake calipers and discs, and RAYS 16-inch aluminum wheels to enhance track and winding road driving performance. Manual transmission models feature improved accelerator pedal response, along with a hill-and-toe assist function that automatically matches engine revs during downshifts. Additionally, exhaust noise and tire rotation noise reduction designs have been incorporated to meet the latest noise regulation standards.

ADVAN is Yokohama’s flagship tire brand. It is supplied as original equipment for high-performance models from major automakers such as Porsche and BMW M. The ADVAN Sport V107 is a summer sports tire featuring an asymmetric tread pattern, a new compound, and high-rigidity aramid fiber, ensuring grip on dry and wet surfaces while delivering quietness that complies with noise regulations.

Yokohama has continuously supplied original equipment tires since the launch of the first-generation Mazda Roadster in 1989 through to the current fourth-generation model. The tire fitted to the first-generation model at that time was the Yokohama Radial 221 in 185/60R14 82H specification.
