BYD Shines at Sydney International Bus Expo with Multiple Pure Electric Buses
From July 15 to 16 local time, the biennial Australasia Bus & Coach Expo 2026 was grandly held at the Sydney Olympic Park Exhibition Centre. As one of the most influential professional exhibitions in the Australian public transport and coach industry, this edition brought together over a hundred vehicle manufacturers and industry chain suppliers to showcase the latest technological achievements and development trends in the field of public transport.

BYD made a striking appearance at Booth 172 with a massive 563.5-square-meter exhibition space, unveiling three pure electric buses—7-meter, 10-meter, and 12-meter models. This product lineup comprehensively covers diverse operational scenarios such as point-to-point shuttle services, remote area transportation, and urban public transit, offering Australia a richer and more efficient range of green mobility solutions.
Among them, BYD’s new 12-meter pure electric bus became the highlight of the expo. This model was newly developed to meet the specific demands of the Australian market. Built on the proven 12-meter platform, it features an all-aluminum lightweight body design and is equipped with a full set of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and a more user-friendly driving control system, achieving comprehensive upgrades in safety, reliability, operational efficiency, and driving experience. With its leading product performance and localized design philosophy, the vehicle attracted numerous public transport operators, industry experts, and bus enthusiasts who stopped by for detailed inquiries.

During the expo, renowned Australian public transport operators such as CDC, Busways, Kinetic, and Metro Tasmania, along with industry experts from Transport for New South Wales, visited the BYD booth. They engaged in in-depth discussions with Jon Tozer, BYD’s Sales Director for Commercial Vehicles in Australia, covering product technology, operational needs, and future market development. All parties highly praised BYD’s performance in lightweight design, safety features, and localized development, and expressed strong expectations for broader and deeper cooperation in the future.
Looking ahead, BYD will continue to deepen its presence in the Australian market, persistently driving product upgrades through technological innovation and continuously refining its localized product portfolio. The company aims to provide safer, more efficient, and smarter new energy solutions for Australia’s green and low-carbon transformation of public transport, working hand in hand with partners to promote high-quality and sustainable development in the public transport industry.
