Recently, the Xiaopeng MONA L03 (Parameters | Inquiry) real car was officially unveiled. The vehicle was designed by a global design team led by Juanma Lopez, former head of exterior design at Ferrari, and is positioned as the first smart and stylish SUV for young people. Based on previous information, the new car will be available with both pure electric and extended-range powertrains. The interior will be fully revealed in June, and the car is expected to be launched within the year.
Looking at the new car, the Xiaopeng MONA L03 continues the family design language. The front features Star Ship headlights with strong recognition, and the lower bumper is equipped with an AGS active grille shutter to balance aerodynamic drag optimization and electric drive cooling requirements. In terms of body colors, the official has announced a “Wumeizi Jam” (similar to deep purple-red) color, along with other options such as purple, gray, pink, and silver.
Moving to the side, the new car adopts a fastback design with a wheel-to-height ratio of 0.46 to create a low stance. It features semi-hidden door handles, frameless windows, and a hidden water-cut design. In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4650mm in length, 1920mm in width, and 1600mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2850mm and a drag coefficient of 0.228. The rear of the vehicle is equipped with a 1.1㎡ large-curvature rear windshield, below which is a through-type star-ring taillight that offers strong recognition when illuminated.
In terms of powertrain, the car will offer both extended-range and pure electric versions. The extended-range version will feature a 1.5L extended-range hybrid system, with the range extender having a maximum power of 70 kW and a single drive motor peak power of 183 kW. The WLTC pure electric range will come in multiple versions: 257km, 241km, and 249km. The pure electric version is equipped with a drive motor with a maximum power of 183 kW, paired with CALB lithium iron phosphate battery packs available in capacities of 56kWh and 69kWh. Depending on the configuration, the CLTC range will be 505km, 525km, 530km, 550km, 605km, 625km, 630km, and 650km.
