On June 11, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. and Yinwang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Wuhu, Anhui Province. Chery Automobile Chairman Yin Tongyue and Yinwang Chairman Xu Zhijun attended the signing ceremony. The two parties will engage in in-depth cooperation on technologies such as L3 and L4 autonomous driving, accelerating technological breakthroughs and mass production implementation of related technologies during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period.

According to the agreement, the two parties will jointly advance the engineering development and large-scale deployment of L3 and L4 autonomous driving, working together to create a compliant, safe, and efficient intelligent mobility experience.
Previously, at the 13th Intelligent Connected Vehicle Technology Annual Conference, Li Wenguang, President of Yinwang’s Intelligent Driving Product Line, stated that Yinwang will launch L3 autonomous driving pilot projects in 2026, achieve large-scale commercial use of L3 autonomous driving by 2027, and anticipate an explosion in Robotaxi, unmanned long-haul logistics, and full-speed urban L4 by 2028. This timeline provides clear mass production expectations for Chery models equipped with advanced intelligent driving systems.
Yinwang Intelligent, formerly Huawei’s Automotive BU, became an independent entity in January 2024, focusing on incremental components such as intelligent driving ADS and HarmonyOS Cockpit. Currently, Huawei holds 80% of Yinwang Intelligent’s equity, while Avatr and Seres each acquired 10% of Yinwang’s equity by investing 11.5 billion yuan respectively.
This deepened cooperation marks a new phase for both parties based on their existing foundation. Leveraging Chery’s vehicle advantages and Yinwang’s complete intelligent driving technology system, the implementation process of high-level autonomous driving is expected to accelerate further.
