The sub-brand of the Chinese company Changan, called Deepal, officially appeared on the Russian market in 2026. Its debut model was the Deepal G318 crossover with a “squared-off” design, and assembly of this model for the Russian Federation has been set up at the facilities of the Kaliningrad plant Avtotor. At the end of last spring, it became known that the local lineup would be expanded with the fully electric crossover Deepal S05, and now the local press service has announced another upcoming new product – the hybrid crossover Deepal S07.

As noted by the company, the Deepal S07 has already received OTS (Vehicle Type Approval) and is currently preparing for the start of sales in Russia; the market launch date will be announced later. To date, the model under its export name – Deepal S07 – is presented including in Europe, though only with a fully electric powertrain. Russian customers, however, have been promised a crossover with a hybrid system, and some technical details have already been revealed.

As reported by the local press service of Changan, the Deepal S07 is a series hybrid, the system of which includes a traction battery with a capacity of 31.73 kWh. With fast charging, the battery can be replenished from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes. When driving on electric power alone, the range of this SUV is 174 km, and the combined range is 992 km (the cycle used for the calculation is not specified). The Deepal S07 intended for the Russian Federation takes 7.7 seconds to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h.

It should be noted that for the Chinese market version, the system includes a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine mounted at the front under the hood, with a maximum power of 95 hp. It has no mechanical connection to the wheels and operates as a generator for the traction battery. The crossover is driven by an electric motor mounted on the rear axle, with an output of 238 hp.

Changan noted that the exterior of the Deepal S07 was developed at the company’s European design center in Turin (Italy) under the leadership of chief designer Bertrand Bach. The crossover features a sloping hood and roof, narrow-shaped headlights, a body kit around the perimeter made of black glossy plastic, including rounded fender flares, two-tone alloy wheels, flush door handles, as well as a spoiler at the top of the tailgate.

The model is also equipped with a panoramic roof with an area of 1.9 square meters with an electric sunshade, a rotating multimedia touchscreen with a 15.6-inch diagonal (with support for gesture and voice control), as well as a Sony audio system with 14 speakers, with a pair of them built into the driver’s headrest and capable of creating a “personal acoustic zone.”

The Deepal S07 intended for the Russian market comes with a winter package, including heated seats (including second-row backrests), heated steering wheel, as well as heated washer nozzles, exterior mirrors, and rear window. The brand’s press service also noted that the body panels feature anti-corrosion galvanization.
