Sales of the five-seat version of the Tenet T8 crossover have started, price revealed

The new modification has front-wheel drive and a different engine: under the hood sits a 186-horsepower 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder.

The young Russian brand called Tenet entered the Russian auto market in February 2025, with the project being the result of a partnership between the AGR holding and the Chinese company Defetoo. Production of cars under the Tenet brand has been established at the plant in Grabstevo near Kaluga (previously owned by the Volkswagen Group). Sales of the seven-seat Tenet T8 crossover started last autumn, and now the family has been expanded with a five-seat version.

Updated: sales of the new Tenet T8 version with a cabin designed for five occupants started on July 1, 2026. The recommended retail price is 3,099,000 rubles.

Let us remind you that the “donor” for the Tenet T8 was the Chinese crossover Chery Tiggo 8 Plus. The currently presented crossover has an exclusively seven-seat cabin, all-wheel drive, and under the hood sits a 2.0-liter turbo engine with a power output of 197 hp and a maximum torque of 375 Nm. This engine works in tandem with a seven-speed preselective robotic gearbox.

Production of the new version of the model (using full-cycle technology – with welding, painting, and assembly) started on June 16, with output also established at the plant in Kaluga. This Tenet T8 has a cabin designed for five occupants, and the trunk volume has become larger while maintaining the same dimensions.

Thus, the crossover’s length is 4725 mm, width – 1860 mm, height – 1705 mm, and the wheelbase – 2710 mm. The trunk volume of the new Tenet T8 version is 889 liters (for comparison, the minimum figure for the seven-seat version is 193 liters). With the rear seats folded down, the cargo space can be increased to 1930 liters.

In addition, the new Tenet T8 version has front-wheel drive and different hardware: under the hood is a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with a maximum power of 186 hp and torque of 275 Nm. This engine can run on Ai-92 gasoline. It is paired with the same seven-speed robotic gearbox with dual wet clutches that comes with the 2.0-liter engine for the seven-seat version.

As reported by the brand’s press service, the new Tenet T8 modification has its body and hidden cavities treated with wax, and the underbody has received additional protection with anti-corrosion and anti-gravel materials, plus improved sound insulation. Like other models of the brand, the five-seat T8 variant is equipped with a full winter package, which includes heated front and rear seats, heated steering wheel, heated windshield, and heated washer nozzles.

Also on the equipment list of the new Tenet T8 modification are: 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, surround-view cameras, a telematics system, six airbags, dual-zone climate control, and an infotainment system with a 15.6-inch touchscreen.

For comparison, the recommended retail price of the base trim of the seven-seat Tenet T8 version with the 2.0-liter engine is currently 3,630,000 rubles, while the top trim costs 3,885,000 rubles.
