Lexus Successfully Concludes ‘Lexus Young Farmers Farm to Drive
Lexus Korea announced on the 27th that it successfully concluded its customer test-drive program, “LEXUS YOUNG FARMERS FARM TO DRIVE,” on July 24.
“LEXUS YOUNG FARMERS FARM TO DRIVE” is a program designed to combine the driving experience of Lexus electrified models with Young Farmers farm experiences, allowing participants to directly experience the brand philosophy and sustainable values that Lexus pursues.
The program was structured as a single journey encompassing vehicle test drives, smart farm experiences, and a Farm to Table culinary program, offering participants a new lifestyle experience proposed by Lexus.
The test-drive fleet consisted of four models: flagship SUV ▲ LX 700h, flagship MPV ▲ LM 500h, and plug-in hybrid SUVs ▲ RX 450h+ and ▲ NX 450h+.
Thirteen customers, recruited on a first-come, first-served basis through CONNECT TO Naver reservations, drove approximately 125km round trip from Lexus’ cultural complex space CONNECT TO in Jamsil, Seoul, to Greentiple, the farm of Lexus Young Farmer Lee Tae-gyu on Daebudo Island, Gyeonggi Province, experiencing Lexus’ unique driving sensation, the “Lexus Driving Signature,” in diverse environments including urban roads and coastal highways.
Participating customers toured the smart farm operating system and the farm at Greentiple, owned by Lexus Young Farmer Lee Tae-gyu, and took part in hands-on activities harvesting basil and potatoes. Greentiple is a smart farm that practices sustainable agriculture through a renewable energy-based system that recycles waste heat from the city gas supplied to Daebudo. Additionally, the farm features a system that allows the height of hanging beds to be freely adjusted to suit working conditions, enhancing the convenience of crop harvesting.
Following this, a “Farm to Table” lunch was prepared using various seasonal ingredients grown by Lexus Young Farmers, including potatoes, Korean melons, and tomatoes. Participants enjoyed menus made with locally sourced produce, experiencing healthy food culture and the value of local agriculture.
Lee Byung-jin, Vice President of Lexus Korea, stated, “This ‘LEXUS YOUNG FARMERS FARM TO DRIVE’ program was designed to allow customers to directly experience the driving sensation of Lexus electrified models and the value of sustainable agriculture practiced by Lexus Young Farmers,” adding, “We will continue to introduce various programs that allow customers to naturally experience the sustainable lifestyle Lexus pursues, and we will maintain ongoing collaboration with Young Farmers.”
Meanwhile, Lexus Young Farmers is Lexus Korea’s representative social contribution program that has been discovering and supporting young farmers practicing sustainable agriculture across the country since 2018. Collaborating with farmers who minimize the use of herbicides, chemical fertilizers, and pesticides, the program promotes coexistence with local communities and the value of sustainable lifestyles. Agricultural products grown by Lexus Young Farmers are used in CONNECT TO’s seasonal beverages and dessert menus, and also contribute to spreading healthy food culture through various events such as the Sik-sik Market.
