Flagship crossover Jeland J8 is preparing to enter the Russian market

The “New Model” is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 249 hp, paired with a seven-speed robotic transmission. Prices will be announced later.
One of the joint projects between the Russian holding company “AGR” and the Chinese company Defetoo was the launch of the Jeland brand on the Russian auto market, which became known in early February 2026. The brand’s debut model was the Jeland J6 crossover, with sales starting in the first half of June. The second model was the mid-size crossover Jeland J7, which received a price tag at the beginning of this week. And now the brand’s press service has announced another new model.

The third model of the brand will be the flagship crossover Jeland J8, with the SUV from the Chinese brand Jaecoo J8, currently represented on the Russian market, serving as its “donor.” The new model from the young Russian brand differs from its “twin” only by the logo in the form of the brand name, located on the radiator grille and the tailgate.
Among the exterior features of the model are a large frameless radiator grille with a vertical slat pattern, relatively simple-shaped LED headlights, a central air intake integrated into the lower part of the front bumper and complemented by a pair of side “L-shaped” air ducts with chrome inserts.

Additionally, the flagship features black roof pillars and roof rails of the same color, 20-inch two-tone alloy wheels, body-colored wheel arch trims, retractable door handles, conventional exterior mirrors with turn signal repeaters, and its rear is adorned with a spoiler on the upper part of the tailgate, a “mono light” with the brand name in the center, and two exhaust system outlets in the lower part of the rear bumper. The ground clearance of the new model is 210 mm.
The interior of the Jeland J8 is designed for five occupants. The seats and the three-spoke steering wheel with a flattened rim are upholstered in genuine leather, the passenger seat is equipped with an ottoman, and both front seats feature ventilation and massage functions. The model also includes dual-zone climate control, an “air fragrance system,” a full “winter” package, keyless entry, and a wireless smartphone charging device (power – 50 W).

On the front panel, there is a horizontal curved display with a diagonal of 24.6 inches, which combines a virtual instrument cluster and a touchscreen for the infotainment system (with an eight-core processor). The model is also equipped with a head-up display, a built-in dashcam, and a Sony audio system with 14 speakers.
The Jeland J8 features ten airbags (including a central airbag and a driver’s knee airbag, as well as side airbags for second-row passengers), a 540° panoramic view system, and a set of driver assistance systems. The crossover is equipped with adaptive suspension with electronically controlled stiffness and seven driving modes. Under the hood, it houses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 249 hp (maximum torque – 385 Nm), paired with a seven-speed robotic transmission, and all-wheel drive.
Production of the flagship crossover, like the Jeland J6 and J7, will be set up at the plant owned by the AGR holding company in Shushary (St. Petersburg). The sales launch date and price list for the new model will be announced later. The price is likely to be close to that of its twin from Jaecoo, which is currently available in Russia for 4,219,000 – 4,979,000 rubles (depending on the configuration).
