Coupe-shaped crossover Xpeng Mona L03 appears in new photos ahead of its upcoming premiere
The presentation of Xpeng’s new crossover is expected as early as next week. The model will be offered with hybrid and fully electric powertrains. All-wheel drive, according to preliminary data, is not planned.
The certification for the Xpeng Mona L03 crossover coupe appeared in the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry back in the spring, and the manufacturer itself announced the new model a couple of days ago. Now Xpeng has released additional photos and videos of the “coupe” online. Furthermore, local media have learned that the full presentation of the crossover will take place at the very beginning of July. Let us also recall that the Mona series was created by Xpeng specifically for relatively affordable electrified vehicles. The coupe-shaped crossover is only the second model in the family, the first being the electric liftback Mona M03, which launched in 2024.
The front end of the Xpeng Mona L03 is styled in the “M” fashion. The crossover also features a smooth “nose” and T-shaped lighting, with active shutters in the lower part of the bumper. The rear lights are designed as a single unit, whereas on the liftback they are, again, T-shaped. The crossover also gets frameless doors with semi-concealed handles instead of the pop-out ones on the M03, and a glass roof.
The length of the Mona L03 is 4650 mm, width is 1920 mm, height is 1600 mm, and the wheelbase is 2850 mm. For comparison, the dimensions of the current Xpeng Mona M03 liftback are: 4785/1896/1445 mm, with a wheelbase of 2815 mm.
The interior of the crossover has not been shown separately yet. However, even in the available images, it is visible that the interior features a minimalist front panel and a large multimedia system tablet. The crossover captured in the official photos does not have a conventional instrument cluster (its role is performed by a head-up display). However, in one of the promotional videos, the car does appear to have an instrument screen. Its presence may depend on the modification; we will know for sure after the premiere.
The Xpeng Mona L03 “coupe” will be available as a plug-in hybrid or a full electric vehicle. All-wheel drive is not announced for the model – only front-wheel drive. The hybrid crossover gets a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine (95 hp) operating as a generator and a 249-hp electric motor. According to preliminary data, the hybrid is equipped with a battery capacity of 37.2 kWh. The electric version features the same 249-hp motor and a battery capacity of 56 or 69 kWh.
The liftback never received a hybrid version, while the fully electric five-door Mona M03 for the 2026 model year has a 218-hp electric motor on the front axle, and the “M” model is equipped with a battery of 51.8 kWh, 61.6 kWh, or 62.2 kWh.
All details about the coupe-shaped Xpeng Mona L03 crossover are expected to be revealed next week. Meanwhile, the Mona family will later be expanded with a larger crossover bearing the index L05.
