Chabi Introduces PnC Service with Hyundai Motor Group… Making EV Charging Easy and Convenient!
CHAEVI (CEO Choi Young-hoon, formerly Daeyoung CHAEVI), a domestic electric vehicle fast charging infrastructure operator (CPO), has introduced Hyundai Motor Group’s Plug & Charge (PnC) service to provide customers with a convenient and advanced charging experience.
As the cumulative number of registered electric vehicles enters the era of one million units, competition in charging infrastructure is shifting from scale-based competition to customer experience competition. With convenience, cost-effectiveness, and the overall service usage process emerging as key factors determining EV user satisfaction, CHAEVI has strengthened its customer-centric charging services through collaboration with Hyundai Motor Group.
CHAEVI has applied Hyundai Motor Group’s Plug & Charge (PnC) service to its charging network. PnC is an international standard technology that automatically handles everything from vehicle authentication to charging and payment simply by connecting the charging cable. Hyundai Motor Group EV customers who sign up for the PnC service at E-pit can complete charging and payment in one go at CHAEVI charging stations without needing a membership card or app. This allows them to conveniently use charging services at CHAEVI stations.
In addition, CHAEVI is independently operating services to build a customer-centric charging environment. These include its own PnC service, ‘BaroCHAEVI,’ which enables one-stop authentication, charging, and payment by simply plugging the connector into the vehicle after the first charge at CHAEVI-operated fast chargers, as well as the ‘Lightning’ program that provides rewards for using charging and CHAEVI Stay services. Through these efforts, CHAEVI is enhancing both charging convenience and tangible benefits, striving to build an EV charging ecosystem.
Meanwhile, CHAEVI operates a fast charging network and leads the EV charging market based on its integrated capabilities encompassing everything from charger manufacturing to installation, operation, and maintenance. Going forward, it plans to expand collaboration with automakers and partners to create a convenient and stable charging environment.
