Classic Model Evolved! Official Images of the New Volkswagen T7 with Factory Pop-Up Roof Tent Released
Recently, the new Volkswagen T7 was officially released. As the brand’s flagship MPV product focused on multi-purpose travel, the new model features optimized adjustments in detail design, functional configuration, and model versions. An interesting detail of this facelift is that in markets such as the UK, Volkswagen has officially revived the classic Caravelle name. Meanwhile, in its home market of Germany, the vehicle retains the original Multivan name.
In terms of exterior design, the vehicle continues to adopt the brand’s classic family design language, with the boxy body shape being a core feature of both models. At the front, both models are equipped with Volkswagen’s iconic horizontal grille, which connects to the headlight clusters on both sides, visually widening the vehicle. The body is available in both long and short wheelbase versions. The California camper van model, designed for outdoor living, is only offered in the long wheelbase version. Additionally, both the Multivan and California have added a top-spec Generation special edition model, featuring exclusive two-tone paint.
Inside, the center console has been redesigned with improved material quality and added decorative stitching. A 12.9-inch floating large screen has been installed in the center console. The fully digital instrument cluster has also been upgraded, offering multiple display interfaces and richer customization options.
In terms of powertrain, the new model is expected to retain the current powertrain options, including a 2.0TDI turbocharged diesel engine with a maximum power of 150 horsepower (110 kW) and a maximum torque of 360 Nm. The high-power version is equipped with a gasoline engine, delivering a maximum power of 204 horsepower (150 kW) and a maximum torque of 320 Nm. Additionally, the new model offers a plug-in hybrid powertrain system with a combined power of 245 horsepower (180 kW) and a 19.7 kWh battery pack.
