Changan’s Rayong Plant in Thailand Reaches Cumulative Production of 20,000 Vehicles, with Qiyuan Q05 as the Main Model
On June 9, Changan Automobile’s Rayong Plant in Thailand reached a significant milestone with the official rollout of its 20,000th vehicle. The main model produced this time is the globally popular all-new Qiyuan Q05 (overseas version NEVO Q05). As Changan’s first overseas new energy vehicle manufacturing base, the efficient operation of the Rayong Plant marks a key transition from product export to full industry chain globalization.
Officially put into operation in May 2025, the Rayong Plant is located in the core area of Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor and is one of the advanced new energy vehicle factories in Southeast Asia. Adhering to the design philosophy of “green and intelligent,” the plant encompasses five intelligent workshops for welding, painting, final assembly, engine, and battery assembly, with an automation rate of 90% at key quality control stations, achieving the precise overseas implementation of “Intelligent Manufacturing in China” standards.
Currently, the plant has become Changan’s Southeast Asia regional manufacturing headquarters, right-hand drive vehicle global supply center, and spare parts center, capable of covering multiple right-hand drive models such as Avatr 11/12, Deepal S05/S07, and Qiyuan Q05, achieving localized production and global service coordination.
As a core component of Changan’s globalization strategy, the Rayong Plant has an initial annual production capacity of 100,000 vehicles, which can be expanded to 200,000 vehicles in the future. After the Qiyuan Q05 was launched in Thailand in May this year, orders exceeded 3,000 units within three days.
