Abinox Unveils MG Concept Motor at Eurobike 2026 and Wins Digital Solutions Award
Avinox, a brand developing integrated technology for electric bicycles, unveiled its latest concept motor, the Avinox MG Concept, at Eurobike 2026, the bicycle, e-mobility, and innovation industry trade fair held in Frankfurt, Germany. In addition, the brand’s new feature in the Avinox Ride App, the ‘Smart Heart Rate Control System,’ won the Eurobike 2026 Award, earning recognition for its user-centric technological innovation.
Celebrating its second anniversary this year, Avinox participated in Eurobike as an independent exhibitor for the first time, showcasing the latest electric bicycle models equipped with Avinox M2S and M2 motors alongside 19 partner brands at its on-site booth. Avinox currently has more than 60 OEM bicycle brand partners worldwide, expanding its presence in the market. During the exhibition, the company also held a power workshop session with partner brand executives to discuss Avinox motors’ high-output strategy and the impact of its products on the e-bike industry.
Avinox MG Concept Motor Unveiled
The MG Concept motor, first revealed at the Avinox booth at Eurobike 2026, is Avinox’s first concept product developed through partnerships with major bicycle brands such as Canyon, Commencal, Forbidden, and Mondraker.
Key features include:
• Smooth gear shifting: Supports seamless power delivery and shift times of under 0.1 seconds, enabling shifting even under high-torque pedaling conditions or from a standstill.
• User-customizable gear shifting: Riders can shift one gear at a time or multiple gears simultaneously, and can choose from various shifting options including manual shifting, cadence-based automatic mode, and AI+ automatic mode.
• Low maintenance burden: The internal gear unit requires no separate maintenance over the product’s lifecycle, and when paired with a single-speed chain or belt, eliminates the need for a rear derailleur and multi-speed cassette.
• Compact and lightweight platform applicable to various e-bike types: The drive unit, based on a new system design, can be easily applied to various bicycle models including eMTB, eTrekking, eSUV, and Gravel.
• Natural riding feel: Designed to provide a stable and natural riding experience without any sense of disconnect, even when total load including gear and cargo exceeds 150kg.
• Intelligent anti-theft technology: The new system supports motor locking even when powered off, enhancing anti-theft performance.
Avinox Smoothshift System Debuts
Avinox also introduced the Avinox Smoothshift system. Avinox Smoothshift allows the drive unit to detect shift signals and enable smooth cassette shifting without pedaling. It also automatically adjusts torque during the shifting process to reduce impact and minimize chain wear. This will first be applied to the newly launched SUV e-bike model, the Amflow TL, which was introduced as the official debut model at this exhibition.
Smart Heart Rate Control System Wins Eurobike Award
Avinox won the ‘Eurobike 2026 Award’ for its Smart Heart Rate Control System, a new feature of the Avinox Ride App. This feature automatically adjusts the pedal assist level of Avinox e-bikes based on the rider’s heart rate, helping users maintain their preset heart rate zone.
The Eurobike Award is presented to products and companies recognized for innovation and user-centric value in the mobility sector, with winners selected through review by experts in the bicycle, mobility, and design fields.
Regarding Avinox’s Smart Heart Rate Control System, the jury stated, “It is a solution that links the e-bike with a heart rate monitor to control pedal assist so that riders can maintain their target heart rate zone,” adding, “This is a new approach that goes beyond existing assist modes, with high potential for application not only in performance and fitness but also in health management.” One judge noted, “Controlling power assist based on real-time biometric data such as heart rate, rather than a power meter, will advance e-bike assist control to the next level.”
Avinox’s heart rate-based assist control feature supports individual riders’ health and fitness goals, including exercise intensity management, weight management, and riding ability improvement. When riders connect a Bluetooth heart rate monitor, the Avinox system automatically adjusts pedal assist levels to help maintain heart rate within the set BPM (beats per minute) range. If heart rate exceeds the target range, motor assist increases to reduce physical strain; if it falls below the target range, assist decreases to encourage the rider to exert more effort.
Riders can set heart rate ranges according to the following goals:
• Steady riding: Set a range of 50–85% of maximum heart rate to achieve sufficient exercise effect while maintaining a stable level of exercise intensity.
• Weight management: Set a target range of 60–70% of maximum heart rate to support efficient exercise for weight management.
• Exercise intensity management: Manage heart rate range during rides to maintain exercise intensity suited to individual condition and goals.
• Improving riding ability and cardiorespiratory function: Systematically manage exercise intensity through heart rate monitoring to help improve cardiorespiratory function and riding performance.
