Declassified: The most powerful production Lamborghini SUV – Urus SE Performante

It takes 3.3 seconds for this SUV from the Italian brand to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h. It is equipped with a hybrid system with a combined output of 810 hp.
The Italian brand Lamborghini, part of the Volkswagen Group, continues to explore the capabilities of its only crossover in the lineup to date. Recall that the Urus debuted in 2017, and in 2022 it underwent a technical update and gained a top-tier version with the Performante suffix added to its name. In the spring of 2024, the family was expanded with a plug-in hybrid variant – the Urus SE. Now the company has prepared another version – the Lamborghini Urus SE Performante.

This crossover has become the most powerful Lamborghini Urus in the model’s history. Its plug-in hybrid powertrain differs little from the “internals” of the standard Urus SE. It is based on the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, working in tandem with a single permanent-magnet asynchronous electric motor integrated into the eight-speed automatic transmission.

Thanks to recalibrated software, the developers managed to increase the combined output of the Lamborghini Urus SE Performante system to 810 hp (596 kW), achieved at 6000 rpm, with maximum torque reaching 1000 Nm (at 2000-5500 rpm). These figures are 144 hp and 150 Nm more compared to the previous Urus Performante. However, they exceed the standard Urus SE hybrid by only 10 “horses” and 50 Nm.

The upgraded PHEV system includes the same lithium-ion traction battery with a capacity of 25.9 kWh, located under the luggage compartment floor. The range on electric power alone also remains unchanged – the same maximum of 60 km (calculated according to the WLTP cycle).

The top speed of the Urus SE Performante is 312 km/h, it reaches 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds (a figure similar to the previous Performante, but 0.1 seconds less than the SE), and it can accelerate from 0 to 200 km/h in 10.8 seconds (versus 11.5 seconds for the “old” Performante). The company also noted that braking power has increased by 10% and system response speed by 12%, while the braking distance from 200 to 0 km/h for such a crossover is less than 130 meters.

The curb weight of the Lamborghini Urus SE Performante is 2473 kg, which is 32 kg less compared to the Urus SE. As noted in the press service of the Italian brand, this was facilitated by the expanded use of carbon fiber – for the hood, roof, wheel arches, side skirts, and rear diffuser. The developers also managed to make the exhaust system lighter and reduce weight through different interior trim.

The new variant of the model features enlarged air intakes integrated into the lower part of the front bumper, additional air ducts in the hood, and tires sized either 22 or 23 inches. The Lamborghini Urus SE Performante is equipped with dual-chamber air suspension and two-valve adaptive dampers. There are no changes in the interior; the front panel features the same two displays with a 12.3-inch diagonal.
As previously reported, the Italian manufacturer is currently already working on the development of the next-generation Lamborghini Urus. According to the plan, the new model will appear in 2029.
