Mercedes-Benz is preparing for the imminent launch of sales of the updated Marco Polo camper.

The refreshed camper van of the German brand, which has changed its home base, will hit the European market on August 5, 2026, with prices to be announced later.
The Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo camper is based on the V-Class. The third-generation passenger van entered the market in 2014, and in the summer of 2019 the lineup was expanded with a fully electric version – the EQV. In March 2026, the German brand unveiled the new electric minivan VLE, announced fuel versions, as well as the luxurious VLS variant. However, the current updated Marco Polo camper is based on the outgoing Mercedes-Benz V-Class.

As Kolesa.ru reported in February, the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo has changed its home base. Its conversion was previously handled by specialists from the company Westfalia in the German city of Gotha, but now vans produced in Vitoria (Spain) are being sent for finishing work to the company’s facility in another German city – Ludwigsfelde.

The company has fully revealed the refreshed camper. One of the main updates for the Marco Polo is a new power-operated pop-up roof that provides a sleeping space in the upper part of the van. The roof features a sturdy and lightweight aluminum frame with double cladding. This “tent” remains insulated in virtually all weather conditions. It also now offers an additional 10 cm of headroom – when the rear section is raised to “full height.”

This roof section of the “glamping-mobile” has also received new LED lighting. Various modes are available for illumination – from cool to warm tones. In addition, the developers equipped the new roof with a sliding panel that provides more natural daylight in the cabin and fresh air flow, while at night it offers an unobstructed view of the starry sky.

The Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo has received a different retractable awning with a modified design as part of the update: it can now be easily removed temporarily, for example, between trips or when visiting a car wash. The model also features new magnetic curtains, a different audio system with eight speakers and a subwoofer, as well as Bluetooth connectivity, which allows you to “play videos even when the infotainment system is turned off.”

The “travel van” has received revised pull-out drawers, new fold-down tables, and a “more energy-efficient” (by 25%) 40-liter refrigerator. The Marco Polo also comes with a mini-kitchen featuring two gas burners and a sink, swiveling front seats and a rear bench that transforms into a bed, while the dashboard features a single panel with a pair of 12.3-inch displays.

For now, the camper’s powertrain lineup remains unchanged. The Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo range includes three 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engines. The base variant delivers 163 hp with a maximum torque of 380 Nm, the mid-range engine produces 190 hp and 440 Nm, while the top diesel offers 237 hp and 500 Nm. All three are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive available. The top versions accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds.

It is known that sales of the refreshed Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo in Europe will begin on August 5, 2026, with prices to be announced later. The current version starts at €80,664 on the domestic market in Germany (equivalent to approximately 7.2 million rubles at the current exchange rate).

Earlier, the company reported that Mercedes-Benz campers will transition to a new generation closer to the end of the current decade and, accordingly, will move to a new platform – VAN.EA / VAN.CA.
