Korea Road Traffic Authority TBN Daegu Traffic Broadcasting, 30th Anniversary Special Broadcast Marking 27 Years Since Founding

The Korea Road Traffic Authority TBN Daegu Traffic Broadcasting will air a special program tomorrow (the 30th) to mark its 27th anniversary.

This year’s anniversary special broadcast will feature a variety of traffic safety content highlighting the strengths of a specialized traffic broadcasting station, as well as storytelling programs that vividly capture local characteristics, airing for 10 hours from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In the ‘Special Departure Daegu Grand March,’ airing from 7 a.m., the station will communicate with citizens on the theme of public transportation. Reporter Hong-jun Park from AutoTimes will share behind-the-scenes stories such as the etymology of the word ‘bus’ and standard time originating from trains. The program will also feature various episodes experienced by Daegu city bus drivers during their routes.

At 9 a.m., ‘Special Studio 1039’ will feature a congratulatory concert and explore Daegu’s future vision. Baritone Woo Jung-hoon, from Phantom Singer fame, will perform a 27th anniversary congratulatory concert accompanied by piano and violin melodies. The program will also continue its series, which began earlier this month, of hearing about the regional future vision from heads of basic local governments in the 9th popularly elected term.

‘Special TBN Cha Cha Cha,’ starting at 2 p.m., will be organized as a congratulatory concert featuring trot singers. Singer Yoon Soo-il, who successfully climbed back up the charts thanks to global star Rosé, and Mai-jin, beloved by the public for her refreshing vocals and friendly image, will deliver a live show celebrating the station’s anniversary.

In the special program ‘Daeprica! Really?’ airing at 4 p.m., the station will communicate with listeners on the theme of Daegu’s heat. The program will explore why Daegu became a hot city, what efforts are being made to move away from being the hottest city, and various episodes related to Daegu’s heat.

‘Special Running Radio,’ airing for two hours from 6 p.m., will cover various stories related to road safety. Experts will discuss drivers’ psychology regarding traffic laws, and listeners’ top 5 picks for ‘factors that hinder driving’ will be announced.
