Hardcore hot hatch Toyota GRMN Corolla gets a price tag

The production run of the “hot” version of the Japanese hatchback has been announced: the company intends to sell just 730 units worldwide.
The current Toyota Corolla has a “performance” version with the GR suffix: this modification debuted in 2022, and already in 2023 the hatchback underwent its first technical upgrade, with further updates a year later. The hot hatch, intended for the domestic market, was refreshed once more in September 2025, with changes affecting the body, engine cooling system, and acoustics. Recently, a new “hot” modification has been revealed – the Toyota GRMN Corolla.

Earlier, Kolesa.ru reported that the Japanese company intended to produce this variant in a limited run, but the exact number was not specified by the manufacturer. Now the brand’s American office has announced that a total of 730 GRMN Corolla units will be built, which Toyota plans to sell worldwide. Each car will feature a badge indicating its membership in the series.

Additionally, the price of the limited hot hatch has been revealed. In the US, it will cost at least $64,360, which is equivalent to approximately 5.14 million rubles at the current exchange rate. For comparison, the price of the “regular” Toyota GR Corolla hatchback currently ranges from $40,520 to $46,565 (about 3.24 – 3.72 million rubles).

For reference, the Toyota GRMN Corolla was developed by engineers of the GR (Gazoo Racing) sports division. It features an aggressive carbon fiber aerodynamic body kit that increases downforce at high speeds while also improving engine and brake cooling. The hood has an additional transverse vent, and the front fenders feature ventilation “louvers” above the wheel arches. Additionally, an adjustable rear wing is mounted on the tailgate.

To reduce weight, the developers removed the rear seats from the GRMN Corolla, while new front seats are installed – in the American version they are more sporty but close in shape to the standard ones (whereas the Japanese hot hatch gets full bucket seats). The dashboard of the new model is trimmed in suede and adorned with an embroidered Morizo signature: as we noted earlier, this is the racing pseudonym of Akio Toyoda, who is the chairman of the board of directors at Toyota and the face of the GR performance sub-brand.

The Toyota GRMN Corolla features a revised suspension: it gets special adjustable monotube dampers with powerful rebound springs for maximum tire contact with the road, as well as recalibrated electric power steering and an all-wheel-drive system with a rear-axle coupling. The hot hatch is shod with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires in size 245/40 ZR18 (they are 10 mm wider than those on the “regular” GR Corolla hatchback).

Under the hood of the new model is an upgraded 1.6-liter gasoline turbo-three engine, the G16E-GTS. Its power remains unchanged at 304 hp, while peak torque has been increased from 400 to 410 Nm. The engine is paired exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission.
Sales of the Toyota GRMN Corolla in the American market will begin in late summer 2026. It is known that buyers will be able to participate in a professional-level driving instruction program (spanning one year).
