New Mercedes-Benz GLA crossover received several technical variants. Prices are known

Order collection for the entry-level SUV of the German brand on the European market has already started; the base “green” version costs 48,600 euros. Prices for hybrids will be announced later.
Mercedes-Benz introduced its entry-level crossover, named GLA, in 2013. It first changed generations at the end of 2019 and underwent a planned facelift in the spring of 2023. Last autumn, spy photographers caught prototypes of the new crossover during road tests, and based on their images, our designer Nikita Chuiko speculated on what the next SUV might look like. Now the German manufacturer has fully unveiled the third-generation Mercedes-Benz GLA and published its prices.

The new-generation Mercedes-Benz GLA features a traditional five-door body with a slightly sloping roof, stampings on the hood and sides, conventional exterior mirrors, flush door handles, roof rails, and a body kit made of black glossy plastic around the perimeter, including rounded wheel arch trim. Available wheel sizes range from 18 to 20 inches.

The front of the crossover features new headlights with a pattern of signature three-pointed stars. Below, on hybrid versions, sits a large radiator grille with a dense frame, chrome accents and stars, as well as a large logo. Versions with electric powertrains get an illuminated cover of similar shape with a pixel pattern.

Three air intakes are integrated into the lower part of the new GLA’s front bumper, while the rear is adorned with a minimalist spoiler at the top of the tailgate with an integrated brake light, taillights connected by a bridge with a light signature of three-pointed stars, vertical reflector strips, and a diffuser at the bottom of the rear bumper. The license plate mount is now located on the bumper rather than on the fifth door.

The overall length of the third-generation Mercedes-Benz GLA is 4,565 mm (153 mm longer than its predecessor), width is 1,873 mm (39 mm wider), height is 1,604 mm (20 mm lower), and the wheelbase is 2,790 mm (61 mm longer). The cargo volume of the new model is 410 liters (70 liters more than the “second” GLA). With the rear seats folded down, capacity can be increased to 1,400 liters. Additionally, the fully electric GLA also has a 107-liter storage compartment under the hood.

The interior borrows heavily from the CLA. In front of the driver sits a three-spoke steering wheel with a slightly flattened rim, while the top versions feature a dashboard dominated by a panel with three screens, flanked by signature turbine-style air vents. The virtual instrument cluster has a 10.25-inch diagonal, while the central infotainment touchscreen and the touch display for the front passenger measure 14 inches. Optional extras include the Sky Control panoramic roof with adjustable transparency and Burmester 3D audio with 16 speakers.

For now, the “third” Mercedes-Benz GLA is available only with fully electric powertrains. The entry-level version is the GLA 200, which features a 224-hp electric motor (torque: 335 Nm) mounted on the front axle, along with a lithium iron phosphate traction battery with a capacity of 58 kWh. This modification takes 8.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. The maximum range is 447 km (calculated according to the WLTP cycle).

The GLA 250+ and GLA 350 4Matic variants come with a nickel-manganese-cobalt battery with a capacity of 85 kWh; in the first case, the model is equipped with a 272-hp electric motor (335 Nm), while in the second, it features a dual-motor setup with a combined output of 354 hp (515 Nm). The mid-range modification takes 7.3 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, while the all-wheel-drive version takes 5.4 seconds. The top speed for all versions is identical at 210 km/h.

The maximum range of the Mercedes-Benz GLA 250+ is 657 km, while the current top version, the GLA 350 4Matic, achieves 643 km (WLTP cycle). The press service of the German brand noted that in early 2027, the lineup will also be joined by a version with a nickel-manganese-cobalt traction battery with a capacity of 71 kWh.

Additionally, hybrid versions will appear in the lineup later. It is known that the system will be based on a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine, which will work in tandem with a 30-hp electric motor integrated into an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission; the setup also includes a battery with a capacity of 1.3 kWh. Official details about this system will be announced later.

European dealers began collecting orders for the new model today, July 30, 2026, and prices for the “green” versions are known. On the domestic market in Germany, the starting version, the Mercedes-Benz GLA 200, costs 48,600 euros (equivalent to approximately 4.46 million rubles at the current exchange rate), purchasing the mid-range GLA 250+ will cost 54,978 euros (about 5.04 million rubles), and the price of the top version, the GLA 350 4Matic, is 58,108 euros (about 5.33 million rubles).
