Xiaomi SkyNomad N90: flagship three-row crossover with long range
Xiaomi has fully unveiled the large SkyNomad N90 crossover, equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. In China, only pre-orders for the Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 are currently available, with full sales set to begin in September. Alongside the Xiaomi SkyNomad N90, its smaller sibling, the Xiaomi SkyNomad N70, also made its debut, but we will dedicate a separate article to it.
The Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 is one of the most anticipated new models on the Chinese auto market in 2026, though it will face fierce competition, as the market is currently flooded with large plug-in hybrid crossovers. The Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 is certainly not the cheapest, the most powerful, or the most luxurious among them — its development focused on practicality and an extended driving range.
For reference, SkyNomad (translated into Russian as “heavenly nomad”) is a new vehicle lineup within the Xiaomi brand, designed primarily for passengers, while the SU7 and YU7 electric vehicles are driver-oriented. The SkyNomad N90 is built on Xiaomi’s own modular Kunlun platform, which took three years to develop. Surprisingly, there is currently no information on the electrical architecture of this platform — whether it is 400-volt or 800-volt. The suspension is fully independent and air-based, with double wishbones at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear.
The overall length of the SkyNomad N90 is 5285 mm, width is 1998 mm, height is 1825 mm, and the wheelbase is 3080 mm. Standard wheels are 21-inch. To support various electronic driver assistance systems, the body integrates a lidar, radar, high-resolution cameras, and ultrasonic sensors. These assistants are powered by a powerful Nvidia Thor processor with a performance of 700 TOPS. The wading depth is 750 mm. The curb weight is 2880 kg.
The powertrain is a series plug-in hybrid, where a front-mounted 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 152 hp operates as a generator, charging a traction battery with a capacity of 76 kWh. The wheels are driven by two electric motors: the front one delivers 210 kW, the rear one 100 kW, with a maximum combined output of 310 kW (422 hp). Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 6.3 seconds, and the top speed is 190 km/h. The driving range on a single charge without engaging the internal combustion engine is 464 km under the CLTC cycle, and in hybrid mode with a full tank (60 L), it reaches 1705 km.
The SkyNomad N90’s cabin is three-row with a 2+2+3 seating layout. The trunk volume ranges from 577 to 1831 liters depending on the chosen configuration, and there are quite a few options: for example, you can set up an office with a table for four or two full sleeping spaces. The minimalist front panel features an 8.88-inch instrument display, a 20-inch head-up display, and a 16.1-inch multimedia screen. For second-row passengers, there is a 21.4-inch ceiling-mounted TV, a 6.88-inch control screen, and individual tablets. The built-in refrigerator has a capacity of 9 liters. The standard 4890-watt audio system includes 25 speakers.
During the pre-order stage, the Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 is available in a single Max version priced at 299,900 yuan (approximately 3.54 million rubles at the current exchange rate). The actual retail price, as is customary in China, will be lower. Later, a five-seat version without the third row and a camper version with a roof-mounted pop-up tent will also be available.
However, the standard SkyNomad N90 is also well-prepared for travel: you can attach a tent of the desired capacity and comfortably spend the night outdoors with the whole family.
