Production of the new version of the Sollers ST8 pickup has started in Russia
The truck has received a 2.0-liter gasoline engine from its “big brother” and an eight-speed automatic transmission with a torque converter.
The presentation of the Sollers ST8 body-on-frame pickup took place in the summer of 2024 in Yekaterinburg during the “Innoprom” exhibition. In the hierarchy of the Russian brand, which primarily focuses on producing commercial vehicles, this truck sits between the ST6, which debuted in 2023, and the flagship ST9 pickup, which entered the Russian auto market in 2025. Full-cycle production of the model has been established at the UAZ industrial site.
Kolesa.ru reported as early as the end of last month that the model would get a version with a new “filling.” Now, the press service has officially announced the start of production of the Sollers ST8 with alternative technology at the “Sollers New Technologies Park” (located within the perimeter of the UAZ industrial complex). Production is set up using full-cycle technology, including stamping, welding, and painting.
Under the hood of the new Sollers ST8 pickup variant lies the familiar 2.0-liter gasoline turbo-four from the flagship ST9 truck, with a maximum power of 224 hp and a torque of 390 Nm. This engine is paired with a classic eight-speed automatic transmission with a torque converter. Forced gear shifting is available for this model. The payload capacity remains unchanged at 900 kg.
It is known that the new Sollers ST8 modification will be presented on the Russian market in two trim levels – “Lux” and “Premium.” The new model will reach dealerships in August 2026. The company has not yet officially disclosed the price, but as we reported earlier, the estimated starting price for such a pickup will be around 3.17 million rubles.
For reference, the current Sollers ST8 lineup on the market includes two options: a 2.4-liter gasoline engine with a power of 204 hp, and a 2.0-liter diesel engine with an output of 136 hp. Both engines are paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The pickup features an all-wheel drive system with low-range gearing, a rear differential lock, and an electronic transmission mode selector.
The current pickup is available in two trim levels – “Optimum” and “Lux.” The entry-level version is the one with the 204-hp gasoline engine, with a recommended retail price today of 2,918,000 rubles. The cost of the top-tier diesel modification is 3,122,000 rubles (prices are listed without discounts from current programs).
Currently, the new Sollers S9 SUV is preparing for its imminent entry into the Russian auto market, with mass production scheduled to begin in September 2026. The upcoming body-on-frame all-wheel-drive SUV is based on the flagship Sollers ST9 pickup. It is expected that the new SUV will share its technology with the ST9.
