Aston Martin has unveiled a brutal V12 SUV. A dream? Yes, but there’s a catch…
Aston Martin’s monstrous off-road vehicle, named the Dreadnought, has been developed for the upcoming game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 — where players will be able to drive it. Unfortunately, it won’t be possible to buy such a car in real life.
The aggressively designed Aston Martin off-roader, with “toothy” tires and a powerful V12 gasoline engine, would certainly have been a success in the luxury car market, but the British company cannot afford to produce such a vehicle in reality — this isn’t a Rezvani. Nevertheless, the Aston Martin design team was happy to create a virtual off-roader, as it’s a rare opportunity to ignore environmental regulations and safety requirements — just do whatever you want!
The Aston Martin Dreadnought was created for one of the most anticipated computer games of this year — Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. We won’t go into detail about the game itself here, only noting that it’s a multi-mode first-person shooter, set to be released on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles. There will also be a version for PCs running the Windows operating system, but it will require very powerful hardware to run. The game’s release is expected in October of this year.
The Dreadnought has a distinctly “spiky” design, yet hints of production Aston Martin models — both current and discontinued — can be discerned. The off-roader has no bumpers, but instead panels with protruding tow hooks. The very muscular wheel arches only partially cover the massive wheels, above which are visible powerful twin shock absorber struts capable of handling any impact. Above the windshield sits a sharp visor housing an LED light bar. The rear is topped with a boldly upturned “ducktail” spoiler — which rhymes with the “grater” blades installed in place of the rear window.
The interior of the Dreadnought is quite minimalist, as befits a military vehicle, but not without aristocratic details — for example, the door handles are made in the form of leather straps. On the narrow front panel sits a multifunctional screen with a counter for defeated enemies, and behind the flattened steering wheel is a “binocular” housing the speedometer and tachometer. The cabin has only two bucket seats, separated by a carbon fiber console with a gear shift lever protruding from it.
The technical specifications of the Dreadnought have not been announced, only a “brutally roaring” V12 engine has been mentioned. We believe that players of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be satisfied with its acceleration dynamics regardless.
One can only dream of a real Aston Martin off-roader with a V12 engine inspired by the Dreadnought — the British company is currently not in its best shape, chronically short of funds, so all hope rests with the Americans at Rezvani Motors — they could certainly whip up something in the spirit of the Dreadnought.
