Who Says the CLE Doesn’t Deserve a V8? Pop the Hood on the CLE 63! AMG CLE 63 Road Test Spy Shots
Recently, we learned from relevant sources that spy photos of the Mercedes-AMG CLE 63 equipped with a V8 engine have been revealed. The vehicle’s hood is in an open state. This new model is highly likely to be powered by the all-new AMG M177 Evo 4.0T twin-turbocharged V8 flat-plane crankshaft engine, with a maximum power output expected to reach 612 horsepower. The new car is anticipated to make its debut and go on sale in 2027.

In terms of exterior design, the AMG CLE 63 will continue the styling of the family’s mid-cycle facelift. The front end features a new front bumper, with perforated air intake designs on the side vents, and the vertical grille has been optimized in shape. The vehicle will also be equipped with Mercedes-Benz’s latest digital intelligent headlights, with a three-pointed star emblem embedded inside the lamp housing.

The side profile features large multi-spoke AMG exclusive forged alloy wheels, and the braking system is equipped with eye-catching red high-performance brake calipers, a signature configuration for AMG high-performance models. The body lines continue the fastback silhouette of the CLE coupe, with the fenders retaining the AMG wide-body design. At the rear, the AMG CLE 63 features square dual exhaust trims and a small ducktail spoiler, with a carbon fiber option available.

In terms of powertrain, the AMG CLE 63 is equipped with a 4.0T twin-turbocharged V8 flat-plane crankshaft engine, delivering a maximum power of 612 horsepower and a peak torque of 850 Nm. While the return of the V8 engine is exciting, the CLE 63 is not the only version in the CLE lineup to feature a V8. The official has confirmed the launch of a higher-positioned Mythos version, which can be regarded as the spiritual successor to the CLK Black Series. The Mythos version features a more aggressive exterior package and will be produced in even rarer numbers, with a maximum power output potentially reaching 637 horsepower.
